First of all try change software to use zoned not packed values. When you
get field 4p 0 it uses 3 bytes like 5p 0. And when use %trim the leading
byte set to x***40.

You have copy each byte exactly without %trim.

Also I think you have to use 16 packed variables and use any of it depends
field length.
