That is the default max size, the default initial size is 16 entries. The
queue will automatically grow up to 16MB without you doing anything but
placing entries on the queue, but it will get very slow if you go too far
beyond those initial 16 entries. It is best to set the initial size of the
queue more in line with your typical traffic, and you can also set
AUTORCL(*YES) to have the queue reset to it's original size when it gets
down to zero entries. Otherwise the Queue could get big and never give up
it's storage.

Subject: API to automatically extend data queue

When using the command CRTDTAQ the default size of the is 16 meg. I
thought that there was an API that could be used to automatically extend
the size of a data queue should the queue need more than the initial size
so that it could dynamically grow. Is this true?
Is QMHQCDQ the API that should be used to do so?

Thanks,
Erick
