Examining the OM08 journal records seems like a good step. If can't do
it with the new SQL UDTFs, and you don't want to use EXPJRNE, you can do
it on a file-at-a-time basis by creating DDS for a temporary file that
describes the journal entry. Check here for an article I wrote on the
