Something not mentioned on the survey and has popped into my mind since upgrading one of my partitions over the weekend is that 7.2 seems to have added an expiration date to the license key activation. I just looked at my 7.1 partition and all of the expiration dates say *NONE. All of the expiration dates on IBM Licensed products with the exception of the base OS on 7.2 have an expiration of 1/25/2017.....

Not sure if this is some oversight on my part in generating the keys or if IBM is now limiting the activation period of licensed programs but if what I see is the new normal, a box at 7.2 that goes off SWMA eventually will only have a license active for the base OS. This would be an issue if the hardware didn't support a future release and so SWMA was dropped. Eventually you would lose the licensed program functionality like Query, Dev tools, etc....anything that had an expiration date. Hanging on to a 7.1 partition would be the only way to continue to operate without SWMA.

Or, maybe having expiration dates on all licensed program in 7.2 is unique to my licensing as a BP. Perhaps folks with "normal" licenses still don't have expiration dates....?
