In RPG type L fields are defined as type D(ate). When we designed RPG IV we thought the database notion of referring to them as type L simply because their internal format was Lilian was silly and confusing - so we made then type code D.

Any file declared in an RPG program that includes type L fields will bring them in correctly - you can simply assign new values, compare them, etc.

Is there a particular problem you have encountered?

Hello,

Can you tell me how we can affect a value in RPG400 to PF field with a type
L (Date)?
