LOL Roger - I shouldn't be chortling the way I am, should I? I can pop
for some kind of tonic next time we meet! Good for what ails you, eh?

I'm not sure why my university gave me the degree - I refused to keep
hurting my head somewhere around topology!

At one time I thought about a math major but didn't pursue it. Might be a good thing - Vern's examples made my head hurt.

So, probably no danger of me breaking the world's encryption. <vbg>

Solving a "NP Complete" problem will have very big consecuences for the
IT world. As one thing: it will rend useless all the more used ecryption
systems.

If you can find an efficient solution, you will deserv a "Nobel price"
More likely, you'll get a Turing Award, which is roughly equivalent to
a Nobel Prize, but for computer science. Or, you might instead get a
Fields Medal if you're young enough; or an Abel Prize if you're not
young enough for the Fields. (Sometimes, the Nobel Prize in economics
amounts to a kind of "math Nobel", so if you do get a Nobel for
solving this, it would be that one.)
