Should point out one issue with the code that we discovered the other day. On a client's system a bunch of programs had blanks in the source change date time entries - no idea how or why. We added defensive tests to prevent explosions in the version on their system, but of course that code is not part of the code in the article.

This article is a few years old now but it works just fine. It covers the basics of what you need and produces a database that you can query to find out who uses what.

Not sure this is exactly what you're looking for ... but there are a number of API's available that can give SOME of that information:

QBNLPGMI - List ILE Program Information: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/api/content/ssw_ibm_i_61/apis/qbnlpgmi.htm

QBNLMODI - List Module Information: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/api/content/ssw_ibm_i_61/apis/qbnlmodi.htm

QBNLSPGM - List Service Program Information: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/api/content/ssw_ibm_i_61/apis/qbnlspgm.htm

QBNRMODI - Retrieve Module Information: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/api/content/ssw_ibm_i_61/apis/qbnrmodi.htm

IBM i on Power Systems: For when you can't afford to be out of business!

I'm riding a metric century (100 km / 62 miles) in the 2015 American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure to raise money for diabetes research, education, advocacy, and awareness. You can make a tax deductible donation to my ride by visiting http://email.diabetessucks.net. My goal is $5500 but any amount is appreciated.

See where I get my donations from ... visit http://email.diabetessucks.net/mapdonations.php for an interactive map (it's a geeky thing).
