Even in the green-screen STRDBG, you can use a SEP. It's much more clumsy/cumbersome than doing a SEP via RDi, but if RDi isn't available, it's still an easy way to make sure you find the right STRSRVJOB to run.
As for why the STRSRVJOB isn't working -- my guess is that the program is just never hitting the breakpoint that was set. i.e., it's not doing what you expect :-)
