I should have added that while CRTPGM supports the use of *NODUPPROC/*DUPPROC - CRTBNDRPG was designed to be a simple one step process to build single module programs. In this regard it was designed to replace the old CRTRPGPGM. While it does permit the use of Binding Directories, this was to facilitate the use of Service Programs. It was never really intended to cater for the level of sophistication that would result in a genuine need for *NODUPPROC/*DUPPROC.

First Doug, *NODUPPROC/*DUPPROC only applies to service programs. There is no such option for CRTRPGMOD.

Second - that option should only be used under exceptional (very exceptional) circumstances anyway - it is a rather dangerous practice. There is very rarely a need to do it if the system is properly designed.

Does anyone know why the CRTBNDRPG command does not have the Creation Options (OPTION) parameter and the CRTPGM command has that parameter? Just curious because I would think you would want to check for (i.e. *NODUPPROC/*DUPPROC) certain conditions no matter how the program was compiled.

Thank you,
