The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Something like:
exec sql select count(*) into :RpgCountField from macfile
where ordyr = 2003;
if SqlState <> '00000';
// error on sql, do ???
ENDIF;

Subject: Using MIN in embedded SQL
Disclaimer: My knowledge of SQL, and embedded SQL is limited.
The following interactive SQL statement yields the following:
SELECT ordyr,count(*) FROM macfile WHERE ordyr between 2003 and
2013 GROUP BY ordyr
ORDYR COUNT ( * )
2,003 225
2,004 392
2,005 447
2,006 248
2,007 379
2,008 544
2,009 262
2,010 568
2,011 532
2,012 288
2,013 314
I need to be able to set an RPG program variable with the year results(2003). Is this possible, if so, please provide a coding example.
TIA
Michael Smith
