Dirk,

You are wanting an example of writing a HANDLER program to work with a browser? That is not as simple as it may seem. Trust me, there is a reason that there are only a handful of third party vendors doing handlers for display. To do it properly is not a small undertaking.

That being said, I recommend that you look for a third party tool that fits your needs. Obviously my employer is an option, but certainly not the only one. Have a look at them all and find what works best for you.

If you really want to do it yourself, here is a link to the RPG Café wiki on OA. http://tinyurl.com/rpg-open-access

There you will find some examples and the documentation for writing handlers.

Subject: Getting started with RPG-OA

Hi all,

I'm having a look at RPG open Access, and therefore I'd like some input/ideas ... .

I have a - very simple - program in RPG. It reads a file, shows two values of the file on a display file and updates the file with the values... .

Now, I'd like to show the two values on a browser, have the user input/change the values and update them in the file.

I would like to do this by using RPG open access ? Can anyone tell me how to do this (or how to start with it) ? A - very simple example to start with - would be great .. .

Kr,
Dirk.
