Betreff: overlaying arrays in v5r1
I'm drawing a blank on how to define an array over several fields in a file
record.
I THOUGHT I could just define the file on an external DS definition, as
follows...
D FileDS E DS extname(FileName)
Then, just add the array definitions using the overlay keyword, as
follows...
D CTTA overlay(CTTA01) dim(10)
like(CTTA01)
Remembering that this is on a v5r1 system, the compiler rejects it,
saying, RNF7303 Subfield defined with keyword OVERLAY is too big;
specification ignored.
How are ten elements of packed 17/4 too big for a subfield?
How must I specify this?
