Using the H-Spec Main means you're not using the Cycle which means *InLR serves no purpose. Your procedure also has an implicit return. That would not result in a program that runs indefinitely.

Maybe that the OP did it as the example below (no LR, no return), which compiles fine on V6R1:

H MAIN(main)
D main pr extpgm('AAA')
P main b
D pi
/free

/end-free
P e
*

Anyway, he should post his example to get a final answer.

Thomas.

Is this a new enhancement that we can compile RPG programs without
LR? This program does not use primary files either. I was expecting
the "I can't determine how the program ends" error message from the
compiler, but instead got a 00 highest severity message.

I'm on V7R1 (without TR7 and without the free-form-everything-RPG
PTF).

I accidentally tried to compile a program with neither LR nor RETURN
and I got the usual fatal compiler error.
