RE: Free format H, F, D and P specs

It seems to me that the new features make it EASIER to incorporate some
newer code into existing programs (no /FREE END-FREE, less necessity for
PR specs, etc.), so why would I want to hamstring myself by using a
version of the compiler that doesn't allow me to use those things?

Simple question to ask yourself Alan - how much would you pay for it?

Your requirement would all but double IBM's maintenance requirements and
thereby costs. Where do the $ come from?
