Obviously you found/fixed the typo in the code example. Sorry about that.
The sample code snip in the comments I called a field "timeout_ms", then in
D-Specs I called it "poll_timeout"

Thanks Charles I will give it a go today, once I have had a couple
more coffees.
Just to let you know that worked beautifully and it is much much easier to
work with than Select, as you don't need to set the socket to non blocking,
so it keeps the code much simpler.
It was only made available in V5R4M0 and I think most of the tutorials on
the web pre-date that, so it explains why it's missing from them.
