That's because it IS an RPGLE program. The SQL precompiler substitutes
RPG calls to the SQL CLI APIs in place of your SQL statements and that is
used to compile the actual PGM (or MODULE) object. If you look in debug
mode you'll see your SQL statements are commented out and calls to the SQL
CLI APIs have been inserted in their place.

Thanks,
Tommy Holden

Subject: SQLRPGLE attribute question
Sent by: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I just finished re-compiling some modules and programs for a file change.

I had not noticed this before, but when I create a *MODULE from a
SQLRPGLE member, the module attribute is RPGLE - I wonder why ?

Also, the resulting program object likewise has the RPGLE attribute,
and not the expected SQLRPGLE attribute.

Another detail, the source member and object had last been changed
in December 2010. The dates and times were all as expected: source
changed just prior to object creation.

But, today, the compile failed due to a mismatch between an SQL cursor
and the receiving data structure. Apparently the compiler got "tighter"
in the last few years -

Thank you to the ILE team !
