How about putting the parameters in a copy file like I suggested in a post a few minutes ago. Then, in the program that calls the other programs by variable, code this prototype:

D genericCall pr extpgm(targetProgram)
/copy STDPARMS

D targetProgram s 21a

I think that gives you the most protection against future programmer error.

We could argue about whether you should copy in the STDPARMS copy file for the PI's. I guess it would depend on how often you change the parameters, and how much other change would be required in each program when you did change the parameters.
