feel obliged to hunt them down and put them out of their misery! It
would be SO easy to misinterpret that code. :-)
Humbly beg pardon for writing that.
We might imagine that such horritude as I wrote would only ever be
written by someone who has to devise sneaky testcases for the compiler.
But we would be wrong. I have seen real customer code that is at least
as icky as my little example.
