Hi, John:

Also, just for the archives, this topic has been discussed many times before ...

IBM advises caution when "mixing" ILE and OPM ... especially when running "pure" ILE *PGMs or *SRVPGMs in the default activation group. =-O

Your situation is a good example of what can go wrong ...

Heavy use of RCLRSC seems like "bad design" to me.

Just for reference.

Several hundred programs. There are 52 CLLE programs that I have
source for that contain RCLRSC. No direct indication that any are
service programs. Then there are the service programs where no source
is provided.

Hi, John:

Issuing RCLRSC from a *SRVPGM seems like just about the worst possible
idea I have ever heard of...

I cannot think of any scenarios where that would be "a good idea...". =-O

CLLE is activation group *CALLER

RPGLE changed to AG *NEW. This program utilizes a service program,
which apparently has RCLRSC in it.

Works with AG *NEW on RPGLE, now. Initially RPGLE had AG *CALLER.
