The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Thanks to all who replied. Yes, this probably should not have been in
the rpg forum, but I knew there would be an answer here.

If this were in production, I would agree with you and just live with
it. I am going to use ops nav to create the sql script, change the
column name and re-create.

I did not consider adding a new column and dropping the old. So I will
add that to my bag of tricks.
Vern:
I will look into the BEFORE keyword and see what happens.
Thanks to everyone else. I have read a lot about using SQL and DDL, but
actually using it finds lots of little things that articles gloss over.
Needless to say, this project is going to take longer than usual.
