Get familiar with the iconv function. Look it up with google or just in the API section on InfoCenter. That'll give you the ability to handle various CCSIDs.

The IFS is in Hex ASCII.

As a quick solution I did %xlate, but this is not pretty and probably not
effective if we will get different CCSID's and maybe DBCS in the future.
