A keyed Access Path, even if unique, is not a "primary key" constraint unless that AccPth was added to the file using either the CL ADDPFCST or the SQL ALTER TABLE ADD CONSTRAINT PRIMARY KEY. The "constraint" effects more than what a unique keyed AccPth does, and thus the database must track the keyed AccPth created as a constraint along with the data that the constraint protects, with more processing than there is for a keyed AccPth that was not created as\for a constraint. The same distinction applies to a UNIQUE CONSTRAINT, as compared to a uniquely keyed access path.

Note: for a constraint to be added to a DDS created PF, the file must be restricted to have only one member which is counter to the default; i.e. MAXMBRS(1) must be in effect.
