Re: Ellipsis in D-spec

This is, for my money, the reason IBM and RPG are still out there and a viable choice. IBM, over the generations, have given us a path forward that is unmatched by any other language or platform.

Modern RPG does not have Factor 1, Factor 2, or a result field. That is not a constraint.

It may have taken IBM 12 years to get all these particular pieces in place, but that is probably because of their wisdom and their patience with us, the programmers in the field. We as a body could not or would not move any faster.
