How to know whether some field value is changed in a display file?

I have a display file with some 25 fields( not a subfile). When user just
hit enter, without any editing,i dont want to do database update. So

fileds, comparing each one with thd database value seems to be
difficult...any other approach?pls help.....

Nisha
