Concur wholeheartedly ... I seem to remember that some years ago the
comment was that, for any given application, only about 30-35% of the its
"life" was spent writing it, the rest was spent maintaining it
(enhancements, debug, updating to new requirements, etc).
What I try to explain to my coworkers (not always successfully, I'm afraid)
is that things like /FREE, SQL, Service programs, etc.. are, in fact, an
easier way to do things. Lazy guy that I am, I like to use them all the
time...
