Right you are, and I gave our operations mgr a copy of that.

Gary,
You might need to install product 5770TS1 "IBM Transform Services for i", and if you want to create a PDF out of an *SCS or *AFPDS spool file, you would also need 5770TS1 option 1 "Transforms - AFP to PDF Transform", both are free of charge.
PTF SI43471 explains the new parameters of CPYSPLF:

Non related, but the Spool to PDF transformation from an *AFPDS works well.

Jorge,
I am curious about your example CPYSPLF command.
Attempting same on my system, however, I am not able
to specify *TOSTMF as the TOFILE:
Value '*TOSTMF ' for parameter TOFILE not a valid name.
In addition, I do not see the TOSTMF or WSCST parameters ???
P.S. System is V7R1M0

I found that I can Copy a spool file to a GIF image using a *WSCST object with V7R1 very easily.
CPYSPLF FILE(QSYSPRT) TOFILE(*TOSTMF) SPLNBR(*LAST) TOSTMF('/home/jmerinoh/mygif.gif') WSCST(QWPGIF).
It also can be used to create TIFF images with QWPTIFFPB and QWPTIFFG4 *WSCST objects as well.
I'm still would be interested on an example to create an image QIMGCVTI or QimgCvtImg APIs if possible, so I'm looking to other Image Types such BMP or JPG.
Thanks all.
Jorge

Hi guys!
I have a little project to generate text images and attach them into emails. So my options are pretty narrowed down to:
a) Have ILE RPG to write an image stream directly into IFS.
b) Write an Spool File and convert it to an image.
So, I was looking into the possibilities of QIMGCVTI/QimgCvtImg API, does somebody have an example to share? Or any suggestion?
Thank you all.
Jorge
