Or, in the case where the number of records is less than what will fit
in a subfile, you can read all the available records into an array of
qualified data structures. I just do a fetch for 9999 rows, again you
have to know that the 9999 is enough to always hold all the records
selected. Then the alternate sorting can be done by using sorta on
different fields of the data structure. That way you only read the
records once and the resorting is very quick without having to read the
records again.

One nice thing about using SQL to build subfiles is that you can do some
fancy alternate sorting by manipulating the ORDER BY clause. Done right,
this can give the user the ability to sort ascending or descending by
any column in the subfile.
