Marc,

A brief Google search yielded this solution. I think you'll need to create a function like this one:

Create Function [dbo].[RemoveNonAlphaCharacters](@Temp VarChar(1000))
Returns VarChar(1000)
AS
Begin

While PatIndex('%[^a-z]%', @Temp) > 0
Set @Temp = Stuff(@Temp, PatIndex('%[^a-z]%', @Temp), 1, '')

Return @Temp
End

Call it like this:

Select dbo.RemoveNonAlphaCharacters(myfield)

Luis,

I would rather prefer which characters i would like to extract...

I.e. abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz. And drop all others characters.

Thanks.

Using REPLACE? Something like:

REPLACE(myfield, '/', '')
