Are you concerned about the little extra code to create the wrapper procedures? It appears below that the only thing the procedures are doing is calling DoStuff, so I'm not sure where you're trying to trim up code.
I can't say that I've ever attempted to simply from 1 parameter to none, but I have had cases where I had procedures that shared a parameter list with the exception of a couple parameters, so instead of requiring every call to *omit/*nopass certain parameters, I created wrapper procedures to require only the parameters used, then the wrapper procedure would handle adding in the *omit/*nopass parms.
Ultimately, I think not the amount of code, but the reasoning for doing this is what is important. I know you can't always sit down with a manager and question their intent, but you can try (nicely). When I do this, I tend to say something like, "I want to make sure I understand the benefit this gives us." The moment they start talking, it becomes a discussion, where it is hopefully okay to ask questions and to even bring up counterpoints.

Subject: Callp question
Hi,
I'm being asked to do this :
DoStuffThisWay ();
DoStuffTheOtherWay ();
DoStuffTheOldWay()
Instead of having : DoStuff (wayToDoStuff); So that the caller does not care about the parameter.
Then, in the module containing my 3 procedures :
P DoStuffThisWay
DoStuff(1);
DoStuffTheOtherWay
DoStuff(2);
Etc.
Obviously,this means maintaining more procedures and duplicating code.
I was wondering about procedure pointers. Could that help? How? Any other ideas?
Thanks.
