With respect to testing it is something we are starting to look seriously
at. My initial thoughts would be to maybe look at how the software is
developed in the first place. We are working very hard to have everything
offered up to consumers as a service. In an RPG sense thats a subprocedure
that does just one thing. We combine these to offer more sophisticated
services. By creating every piece of the solution as a service we can then
look at testing each service as it is developed. We do this by creating
test programs which simply call the services, we check these for the
correct results and also step through the services in debug to be sure the
results we achieve are not done so by accident or good luck.. Once the
individual services are tested then more extensive IT and user testing is
performed based on known inputs and expected outcomes.

We are also looking at developing software that works on the concept of
asserts. This should help automate testing of our software especially after
changes have been made.

Its a very big subject, good luck with it all.
