Perhaps something along this line?

Select * from aaFormsVp Where aaComp = :aaComp and aaState = :aaState and
aaPLine = :aaPLine
And aaDType = :aaDType And aaRRdate <= :aaRRdate
Order By aaComp, aaState, aaPLine, aaDType, aaRRdate desc

Thanks,

Actually the READPE thing does matter - you're using a partial key - you
want to FETCH and compare the values until they don't match your key
values.

Currently, we use the following RPG code to retrieve zero or one record
from table aaFormsVp:

setgt (aaComp:aaState:aaPLine:aaDType:aaRRdate) aaFormsVp;

readpe (aaComp:aaState:aaPLine:aaDType) aaFormsVp;

Can this be replicated in SQL?
