The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Ummm... LF is 0A, not 04. . . but your code seems to know that.
Actually, the x'0A' is an ASCII linefeed in an EBCDIC string (don't ask
why; it's both complicated and stupid).
And the problem turned out to be something very different from what I
was expecting: a dirty, stinking, !@#$!@ !$#@$ typo: EVENTDTL instead of
EVENTDTLX, introduced when I had to add EVENTDTLX (a working copy of
EVENTDTL) for another reason, and missed two places where I needed to
change EVENTDTL references to EVENTDTLX.
As I said, <Emily Litella>nevermind</Emily Litella>
