You could always go back to the old days. The half adjust solution in
assembly language.

If your field is defined as 7,2 you can add .005 i.e.

my72fld = (25 / 9); // result will be 2.777777777, field will be 2.77

my72fld = (25 / 9) + .005 // result will be 2.782777777, field will be 2.78
half adjusted.

I've not found any solution in the manual and I'm wondering if you can
half-adjust a quotient or product result in Rpg Free. The free form
syntax
in the manual doesn't show any method of doing it that I can find.

Well my manual shows the following:

Free-Form Syntax {EVAL{(HMR)}} result = expression
{EVAL{(HMR)}} result += expression
{EVAL{(HMR)}} result -= expression
{EVAL{(HMR)}} result *= expression
{EVAL{(HMR)}} result /= expression
{EVAL{(HMR)}} result **= expression

EVAL is an optional op-code. If you want to use any of the op-code
extenders (the name's a giveaway) then you have to have an op-code to
extend! i.e. EVAL.

So H, M and R extenders all require the use of the op-code.
