Everyone expects me to respond here - if a commercial product is of interest, we have RPG2SQL Integrator, which lets you work live with any remote database that has an ODBC driver.

We also have an Open Access: RPG Edition (OAR) handler for our product that lets you do this with standard RPG I/O opcodes like CHAIN and UPDATE - all but SETGT and READP and READPE are supported at this time.

You have to be on 6.1 or later of the OS to use the handler.

The product also has an RPG2Excel component included, which lets you do anything you want with Excel - it actually uses Excel itself to do the work.

Give me a shout if interested here or call 888.RJS.SOFT toll-free and ask for Vern or Sales or email vern@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or sales@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
