Hi all,

A coworker has asked me something that I thought I knew, but now realise
I'm not sure.

When a record is locked by a CHAIN or READ, I know that it will be unlocked
when the program updates that record, or when it reads another record. But
what happens if a READE returns the EOF condition? Is the previous record
released? If a READE is performed on record 1, then a WRITE is performed,
is record 1 released? If so, why? How does it work?

Thanks.
