Oh right - it was V6 wasn't it.
Anyway - the debug thing is the only downside. Only reason I can think of
to need to see such a field in debug is to establish exactly which record
you were looking at. Perhaps none of the fields you "used" were unique so
...
Pretty unlikely scenario and one easily fixed.
