OT ... FWiW, having experienced the same issue with a space bar, although eventually I was able to fix mine w/out a new kbd, I found the "V" was quite sufficiently near the space, for which the Ctrl-V easily replaced the space bar... pending resolution. And white space can be found and copied with Ctrl-C from just about anywhere.... else ;-)
