Convert decimal number to string -- RPG400-L

The consultnt wants numeric values with decimal point and a leading
minus sign (if negative).

I thought I could do it like this:

eval bal = %editw( acct_bal : '- . ')

A test showed that 1234.56 a packed field, was converted to 123456.

I have no idea if the minus sign will show.

Should I use %wditc instead? What code will show a decimal point, no
commas, and a leading minus sign?
