Jon,

if you just click the link you get gibberish

Not that I am a "geek", but you just can't open a SAVF,
if you do that, you get your "gibberish" :-)

The SAVF (RPGBEANSAV.SAVF) has to be uploaded
to QSYS into a SAVF.

Found a very old note - which I do not fully understand,
but many year's ago - I sure did :-)

Here's some informations:

1)
You have to create an empty SAVF in QSYS somewhere
lets say in QGPL called RPGBEANSAV.
2)
You download the RPGBEANSAV.SAVF to your PC
somewhere.
3)
You need (in this case) to have Operation Navigator
(or what it is called nowaday).
4)
Dig into the FileSystems/IFS/Root in OpsNav.
5)
Copy (draw) RPGBEANSAV.SAVF from your PC to the Root of IFS
with IE (two seperate windows).
6)
Now do a CPYFRMSTMF
/RPGBEANSAV.SAVF
/QSYS.LIB/QGPL.LIB
/RPGBEANSAV.FILE
*REPLACE
7)
Now you do a RSTOBJ on the SAVF named RPGBEANSAV
and direct it to an already created library (eg. RPGBEAN).

Not sure if this is correct or there is a better way to do it, but
it has been many years ago - I have done it (this way :-).

HTH

Leif

When looking for site that have "disappeared", I look at waybackmachine.org. I found the download page for the old site:

Thanks Brian - I had found it that way but the downloads didn't appear to work - but my brain has been awoken by a private email - I hadn't thought to do "save link as" and if you just click the link you get gibberish.

I'd still like know if the effort is discontinued or has simply moved if anyone else knows.
