I guess "little" or "a lot" of changes is all in the eyes of the beholder. As a RPG programmer, I loved the changes in 6.1. I loved the changes in 7.1. All I can say is "keep them coming!"

The %parmnum BIF alone is huge in my book. %scanrpl is an amazing tool for not only replacing characters, but also removing characters altogether (replacement value of ''). No longer needing Prototypes (for non-exported procedures). There's more, but those 3 enhancements have been wonderful for me.

I think 6.1 had a lot of changes, so bad that some programs from previous release don't work. But from 6.1 to 7.1 there are litle changes. So, unless you come from someting before 6.1 you wont find to many changes.

Chuck,
Yeah, I know, but I'm surprised just HOW LITTLE has been written up on
the new functionality in 7.1 or else I've really missed it - which
could be the issue.
From all I've seen and heard, 7.1 appears to be a hardware release and
yet
another thing to force people to pay more services fees to software
vendors to get new objects for 7.1 that don't migrate from 6.x...
Remember when that wasn't a problem???
