FWiW: If no specific documentation can be found to suggest that the side effect is intended, then there may be value [for you, and others] if someone affected would ask IBM to provide either a doc reference to explain that as the expected behavior [and why] or an APAR in which the outcome is documented as an [un]intended effect. I did not look for any docs about that feature, for how the CALL arguments are handled via the iNav database RunSQL.
