The stat() API returns time as an integer value representing the number of
seconds since Jan 1 1970. There are two APIs you will probably want to use
-- localtime() which will convert the integer value from stat to a time
structure, asctime() will will convert the time structure to a character
string representation of the date and time.

Both APIs can be found using the API Finder function of the Information
Center.

Does anyone know how to convert the time values that are returned from the
stat() IFS api for an IFS file.

If anyone knows I would appreciate finding out the formula or finding out
where the information is. The IBM site has not been very forthcoming

I want to be able to display from within my RPGLE program the create date
and time of the IFS file to help the user determine the exact file they are
after.

Thank You Scott Klement for your IFS API e-book. You have saved me lots of
time. Your examples and code are just excellent.
