The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
There's an interesting development. I can view the file in / tmp on the AS/400 using wrklnk. . . then 5.
If I look at properties of the same file in my associated windows directory, the properties popup displays, but none of the info is populated. Trying to open it in Notepad errors out with 'the system cannot find the file specified'.
Could it be the properties on my write operation?
Here's the gist of the RPG:
...
fd = open(filename
: O_RDWR + O_CREAT + O_TRUNC + O_CCSID
: M_RDWR
: 1252);
if (fd <> -1);
outlen = base64_decode(value.buf
: value.len
: %addr(outbuf)
: %size(outbuf) );
callp write(fd: %addr(outbuf): outlen);
callp close(fd);
endif;

Subject: RE: PDF's on IFS
Can you put the PDF somewhere on the IFS where your PC can access it? If so, open the same copy of the PDF with both Notepad and DSPF. The line spacing may be different, but does the text match?
