Folks:

Can someone clarify something for me ...

As I understand it, in order to return a result set from a stored
procedure written in RPG, you have to return a multi-occurrence data
structure OR another result set.

In the case of a result set, is it possible to return a result set from a
query on a file in QTEMP?

Thanks!

david

Yes, you can use QTEMP files. We use them all the time, as well as
multi-occur DS..

Sure, you simply have to declare a cursor and open it (and do not close it
before ending the program).

What I ended up doing is:

NumDate s like(jdouble)
NewDate s d
NumDate = HSSFCell_getNumericCellValue(cell);
NewDate = ss_xls2date(NumDate);

The HSSFCell_getNumericCellValue(cell); & ss_xls2date(NumDate); are from
Scott Klements HSSF routines.

Thanks for everyone's help

Dates in Excel spreadsheets are held in numeric cells (floats or RK
numbers) as a day count since (and including) 1st Jan 1900, but with the
added quirk that Excel thinks 19800 was a leap year!

They are shown on screen as human-readable dates by applying a format
string to them.

Hope this helps.
