Yes he's using the JavaMail API. I emailed Aaron, he sent me to the stack
overflow.com website. I think I know what needs to be done, I was just
hoping for verification that I was headed in the right direction by
duplicating the SMTP Port code and calling it SMTP timeout then calling that
procedure in the RPGMail program.

If I recall correctly he is using JavaMail APIs under the covers.
There should be a timeout property available for that possibly.
Have you emailed Aaron ?

subject: RPGMail SMTP Server Timeout
Hello,
I'm currently using Aaron's RPGMail to send emails directly
from our System I. I have an intermittent problem where it appears (based
on Aaron's comments) the SMTP Server connection is timing out causing my
program to hang. Has anyone successfully added a timeout exception to
Aaron's package? Aaron pointed me to a page about getting mail from Gmail
into Java applications using IMAP on stackoverflow.com however I'm
struggling on how to make that work in his package. I think I have the right
idea more or less (duplicating the setSMTPPort code in the RPGMAILFM,
RPGMAILCP and RPGMAILSV then calling that new procedure in my program) I
just don't want to head down that road if I'm not even close.
Thanks,
Jeff
