Yikes!! Why not just say it is located in file QSQLTEMP1 in library QTEMP! I doubt that more than 1% of the folks on this list know what a primary associated space is. But you can see it with

WRKMBRPDM QTEMP/QSQLTEMP1 MEMBER

Something like that - I'm not at a machine at the moment.

Actually the location of the temporary source member is a parameter on the CRT* command - go down a couple screens - you can specify a location OTHER than QTEMP for the source member to be created in.

Hello Steve,

it seems to be located in the primary associated space of the generated
member, at least on my V5R4 machine

see
DMPSYSOBJ OBJ('QSQLTEMP1 MEMBER') CONTEXT(QTEMP) TYPE(0D) SUBTYPE(50)

my debug an OPM SQL program problem is solved simply by using the *LSTDBG
option. For some reason I thought I had tried that or it only worked with
STRISDB.

anyway, still curious to know where the SQLRPG pre compiler stores the SQL
instruction text .

thanks,
