How about this
D Xlatefrom C CONST('anAN')
D Xlateto C CONST(' ')
Newfield = %xlate(Xlatefrom:Xalteto:Oldfield);
If Newfield <> ' ';
//Olfield contains something other than a,A,n or N
Endif;
NOTE : I included both upper and lower case

Subject: Test a field for specific values only
I have a 20 byte field that should only contain the values of A or N in any given position.
Without looping through each position, is there any way to test if the field contains any other value?
Thanks,
