SAP is being run mostly on POWER7 boxes running AIX with an Oracle DB

Be happy, so you can become a Oracle DBA and you'll never be jobless ;)

Recently someone told me:
They also run SAP on an pSeries with Oracle Database, but moved to an i.
Before moving to the i 3 Oracle DBA were always busy in regorganizing
indexes, accommodating tables spaces and buffers.
Since they moved to the i they haven't seen any DBA and even SAP run better
on the i.

In our case..

SAP is being run mostly on POWER7 boxes running AIX with an Oracle DB.

The .NET mobile app will be running on Intermec CN3 handheld devices
running Windows Mobile 5.1 They will be talking to the Sybase Unwired
Platform (SUP) with will in turn talk to the SAP Data Orchestration
Engine (DOE) which interfaces into the main SAP applications.

All,

Well the day is here, my last official day as a member of our IBM i
development team...

Been on the platform since 1996 @ v3v6....

I know I'll miss the i, RPG and all the great people here...

Thanks to everybody who's help me; I hope I've been able to give
back
at least a little bit.

Hopefully, I'll be able to keep my hand in at least some...

But for the most part it's onto the brave new world of .NET Mobile
and
SAP.

Sincerely,
Charles
