I am attempting to connect to Microsoft Sql Server from an SQLRPGLE
program.

ArtGate is installed and I get good results from STRSQL.

(many thanks to Dieter Bender)

The relevant D specs are:
D wkUser S 8A Inz('uuuuuuuu')
D wkUsing S 30A Inz('xxxxxx')

The relevant code is:
EXEC SQL connect to JDBCTEST user :wkUser using :wkUsing;

SQL Messages and Codes indicates: "Authorization name is invalid.",
which
I
think means the value for host variable wkUser is not valid, but I have

checked
and re-checked this for spelling and case.

I am also sure the value of the host variable for the password has the
correct
spelling and case and is left-justified.

My latest attempt was to change the host variable length to match the
number
of characters in the MS Sql Server user account.

Maybe I need to create an authorization list?

Maybe I have a data type problem?
