If I'm not mistaken, the null indicator i_batchsize would return EITHER 0 or -1...

Here's some sample code...

D ShipDateNull S 5I 0
D NULL S 5I 0 Inz(-1)
C Eval OrderID=11074
C/EXEC SQL
C+ SELECT ShipDate
C+ INTO :RPGShipDate :ShipDateNull
C+ FROM Orders
C+ WHERE OrderID=:OrderID
C/END-EXEC
C Select
C When SQLCOD=*Zero
C If ShipDateNull=NULL
// ShipDate is NULL -- Process accordingly
C Else
// ShipDate is NOT NULL -- Process accordingly
C EndIf

-Eric

Subject: Odd Error

I'm getting a
*RNF7416 30 004456 The types of the right and left hand side do not match in
the EVAL operation.

In the following code:
0044.53 DbatchSize S like(getBatchSize)
0044.54 Di_batchSize S 5i 0
0044.55
0044.56 C/exec sql
0044.57 C+ SELECT pmsize INTO :batchSize :i_batchSize
0044.58 C+ FROM Pmodel
0044.59 C+ WHERE pmpmtp || pmpmnm =
0044.60 C+ (SELECT rdType || rdpmnm
0044.61 C+ FROM Rmodel
0044.62 C+ WHERE rdschd = :rsNum
0044.63 C+ AND rdmstp = ' ')
0044.64 C/end-exec
0044.65
0044.66 C if i_batchSize > 0
0044.67 C eval batchSize = 0
0044.68 C endif
0044.69
0044.70 C return batchSize

Anyone know why?

Thanks
